My over all opinion of the novel "Hopeless", by Colleen Hoover is very high. The book was remarkable. Everything about it was incredibly written - from the characters and their personalities, to the details of the relationships, and the astonishing plot twist.
This is most definitely my favorite book out of all the books I've read in my past. I was intrigued by the storyline and the characters and wouldn't have wanted to do a project over any other book.
This book was not like any others. At first I thought that it would be just like every other teenage-love-novel with a bad boy and a good girl that happen fall in love and the she end up fixing him, but it wasn't; It was so much more than that. I was amazed at how perfectly Hoover sewed every little thing together. She found ways to connect every detail and every moment to everything that happened in Sky and Holder's past. I was blown away at how every dream of Sky's somehow connected to Holder.
Hoover ended the novel perfectly, describing how Holder explained that “The sky is always beautiful. Even when it’s dark or rainy or cloudy, it’s still beautiful to look at.” (Hoover, page 1431) which led Hope to choosing Sky as her name when Karen took her in and had her choose a new one. Every moment that happened somehow tied back to Holder and it was beautiful.
Her descriptions of the characters feelings was so amazing and made me actually feel what they were feeling. I've never felt more connected to a book before.
When Holder and Sky find out that her father had taken away Holder's sisters innocence away as well, Holder was devastated and furious and she describes it with imagery so well, writing how, “His face contorts into an unbearable amount of agony and he turns away from me, pulling his hands through his hair.” (Hoover , page 1206).
"Hopeless" by Collen Hoover is a wonderful novel and I had an incredible experience in reading it. If I could only read one book for the rest of my life this would be the one.
